Seaside Cliff Residence

The brief

A family home on an exposed coastal plot, with every main room facing the sea and a structure able to stand up to winter storms.

How we built it

We designed and built the house as one contract. Piled foundations reach nine metres into the chalk, and the curved glazing was installed from a temporary gantry because no crane could reach the site.

The owners moved in before the first winter, as promised at the start.
