Ridgeway Cultural Pavilion

The brief

The client wanted a building the whole town could use: a hall for events, a gallery, a cafe and rooms for hire, all inside the footprint of a former bus depot.

How we built it

We kept the depot’s steel frame and cast a series of plastered vaults beneath it. Building inside a live town centre meant night deliveries, a tight crane plan and a neighbour liaison officer on site every day.

The pavilion opened two weeks ahead of programme and within the agreed cost plan.
